Every person comes into life as a unique expression of source consciousness. The socialization process of our current world disables the process which allows a child to unfold into their own unique blueprint. We are conditioned to believe, that the approval of others, will result in our success, fulfilment, and happiness.
From an early age we learn to discard qualities we believe to be inferior or inappropriate, in favour of qualities we feel will get us love and acceptance.
The term “sheeple” refers to people, who lack the ability to think for themselves, thus we chose to use sheep as a metaphor in this series.
This artwork has been created using morse code to spell out the words “Blah Blah.” The term as well as the blindfolded sheep, refers to the mindless chatter in our heads. Our endless thoughts are destroying our ability to be present and appreciate every moment.
Collaboration | This artwork is a collaboration by artists, Laresa Perlman & Verna du Toit. Verna drew the sheep in pen and ink and Laresa created the lines of morse code, spelling out the words "Blah Blah" by using an airbrush with acrylics and inks |
