Death is commonly associated with darkness, decay, and sadness, but in my artwork, it represents the death of the ego, thus the awakening of higher consciousness. Ego refers to the conscious mind, your sense of identity. Therefore the “death” of the ego symbolizes the dissolving of our sense of self. The dissolving of the ego allows us to become one with consciousness, and allows us to transcend our egoic nature, which brings us to our true essence, enabling us to feel one with all that is.
